Hello, my name is Joy King, and I am honored to be running for a position on Fayetteville-Perry Board of Education.
Family and Community Roots
My family and I have lived in the Fayetteville area for three years, and we are proud to call it our home. I am married to Zander King, and together we are raising two children who attend Fayetteville Elementary. As both a parent and a neighbor, I am deeply invested in ensuring that our schools remain a place where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Education and Career Background
I was born and raised in the Cincinnati area and graduated from Loveland High School. In 2001, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and worked in the Juvenile Justice system for eight years. I then returned to school and earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and Health Sciences, becoming a Registered Nurse in 2009. Over the past 15 years, my nursing career has included roles in acute care, hospice, and case management, and today I apply my nursing knowledge and experience in the Revenue Cycle space. I currently serve as a Regional Manager with a leading healthcare revenue cycle company, where I manage a team of 30 and collaborate with hospital CFOs, physician leaders, and others on clinical documentation. My background has given me experience in strategic planning, data analysis, critical thinking, leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration—skills I believe will serve our district well.
Service and Involvement
Over the past three years, I have been actively involved in the PTO, coached soccer, and volunteered as a “team mom.” These experiences have strengthened my commitment to teamwork, listening to diverse perspectives, and working toward solutions that benefit everyone.
What I Bring to the Board
Those who know me best describe me as principled, solution-oriented, empathetic, and passionate. I believe in leading with integrity, listening with empathy, and making decisions with the best interests of all children at the center.
My Commitment
If elected, I will work hard to:
Ensure fiscal responsibility with taxpayer dollars.
Support teachers and staff with the tools they need to succeed.
Advocate for every student, regardless of background or abilities.
Promote open communication and trust between the board, families, and the community.
Our schools are the heart of our community, and I am eager to contribute my time, skills, and passion to help them continue to grow stronger.
